Welcome

Welcome to the Chelmsford group of Amnesty International. We turned 25 on 16 January 2009.
We are one of nearly 300 groups in the UK that contribute to Amnesty’s mission to defend human rights across the world. Amnesty International is a movement with more than 2.2 million members committed to defending human rights of individuals to justice, fairness, and freedom of conscience and expression.
We are an enthusiastic and welcoming group of local people who:
- Raise local awareness of human right issues the world over
- Hold regular meetings to discuss and act on these issues
- Campaign through letter-writing, holding public actions and talks
- Fundraise (and have fun!) for Amnesty at events and social gatherings we organise throughout the year
We hope that you will be able to join a growing, impartial and independent movement
committed to building democracy and international solidarity, and defending universal
rights to freedom and justice.
For more information, contact us, take a look at about us, or read our 2008 Annual Report (pdf).
